Foxconn is preparing to ship the first iPad 3 units to the United States, reports say.
The Apple Pro blog has published a picture of what it says is official documentation showing a shipping schedule, with several shipments from Foxconn heading to the U.S. and due to arrive no later than 9 March.
The shipments will be under high security, according to the report, and will arrive at around the same time that Apple is expected to unveil the third-generation iPad, suggesting that availability will be almost immediate in the States at least.
The shipments are arriving from China at three of the biggest U.S. airports, the report states.
Meanwhile, Apple Insider reports that Best Buy has cut the price of the iPad 2 by $50 in the US, the second retailer in the country to have cut iPad 2 prices. This could be an indication that retailers are anticipating a third-generation iPad soon, Apple Insider believes.
Last week, iFixit published a video of what is believed to be an iPad 3 display, which shows that the resolution of the new model will be higher than that of the iPad 2.
